I’d sure like any of you who have tried both shooting methods to weigh in. I currently shoot split but I’m thinking three finger pull would allow for greater ease of draw. Am I correct? I was told I would have to change the knock on my string. Can someone explain to my why that is so? Thank you.

          Loupnoir,

I don’t see how switching from split-finger to three-under would make for easier drawing of the bow, unless you switch to a lower anchor, which could have some biomechanical advantage. Yes, changing how you hold the string may require a minor nock locator adjustment. This is due to the slight difference in how your limbs load up due to holding the string in a slightly different location. It’s not enough to fret over, and tuning will tell you if you need to move it and by how much.

I have improved my shooting consistancy by shooting 3 under.

I now draw 3 under and anchor my thumb knuckle under my ear lobe. I get a full draw this way and can use back pressure.

I was shooting way to fast in the past, Now I can get a 2/3 sec delay before release.

I also do not shoot groups. After each arrow I move someplace else to get a different target angle.

Wideangle…sounds like you have been under the influence of Rick Welch and his shooting school or videos. If not you may want to look him up. I purchased his DVD and am now shooting a similar style in anchor point and three fingers under.
