For many years now I have been going to the Black Hills hunting deer with the longbow. But this year I used my hunting funds to help a close friend. Started looking for a hunt that would not cost to much. And with a long standing goal to hunt 10 States for deer, turkey, or other big game with my long bow.

I have choosen to head up into the UP of Mich. Got a Ottawa National Forest map in the mail yesterday. that along with Goggle earth I have been “computor scouting” heading out Sept. 30th (season begins Oct. 1st) leass than a 4 hour drive

(the Black Hill are 12 hours. and the MI tag is $147.00 less)

Most of my hunting is NW WIS. so it wont be alot different. But still has been alot of fun planning. The closest town will be Marenisco MI. Any of you ever hunted that area.

or have things you coud share about the area that may help?

        Thanks Ron.

Hmmm, never hunted that far west. I know the middle section (Escanaba and north) have good deer numbers. Northeastern U.P. has the lowest numbersw in the state. I have only been in the Porcupine Mountains on thee west end. Have always thought it would be fun to stay in the Porkies and still hunt the trails.
