Well I used to think that a 2 blade broadhead that was hunting sharp out of the package was a myth. You know kinda like Bigfoot, Nessie, and foolish Whitetails. Then I bought a package of 200 grain Phantoms ($40 for three OUCH!). Shaved hair without so much as a touchup! Not that I don’t like sharpening stuff, but it is kinda nice to see a company that puts a bit of extra effort in. Now if only I could find one of them foolish Whitetails…

Grasshopper say, Whitetail not foolish. Hunter foolish. 😯

Lol too true! Mayhap there be a Whitetail as foolish as me?

Who makes Phantoms? Please describe the head and if possible, provide a link to a site that shows them. My instinct is to predict that a factory-sharp head is not real hard steel. As one broadhead manufacturer explained to me, the extra labor and time involved in doing a final sharpen on a head above 50 Rockwell or so would make them prohibitively expensive. But then, at $40 for 3, maybe that’s what you’ve found. dp

Afraid I don’t know how to post a link but the company of manufacture is Muzzy. They are 100% stainless steel, 4-blade, and vented, but I’m not sure at what Rockwell they are produced. Anyone here know?

According to Muzzy web sight the Phantom SS is 220 grains. Suggested list price from muzzy is $26.95 for a 3 pack. Here is the link,

Yup tis the same broadhead. Mine weigh 200 because I removed the bleeders. And as for the huge price difference, well we can chalk that up currency exchange, import costs, etc. Nuthin in Northern Alberta is cheap:(.
