I have several more setups going out this x-mas to the wee nephews and nieces…. Whew! This is the last batch till these wee ones get old enough to have wee ones of their own. By then I’ll be too crotchety to care I expect.
Anyway, another batch of PVC bows and now PVC quivers to match. Each kid gets a quiver with something important to them engraved on it. In this case, Sonny likes falcons…
Bow, about a dollar. Quiver, less than a dollar. Time, will that’s probably not worth much any more either 😳
This bow is going to a 10 year old in HI. Their property is covered up in wild chickens. Can you imagine being 10, getting a bow and quiver full of arrows, and having a chicken behind every tree? Dang.
Oh yea, bow is named “shadow hunter”. The boy likes to hide.

Dear Uncle Steve, here’s my Christmas list….. What a terrific uncle! Merry Christmas to all, all but the chickens. dwc

I’m only 5′ tall, & buy clothes in kids dept….
Sorry Grumpy, the list is closed now 🙁 I wish I had learned about these PVC bows when my kids were growing up. Oh well…
When the grand kids come along, gulp, I can make up for it then.

I got my inspiration from this guy:

If you do a search on PVC bow, quite a bit comes up. But the fellow that started it was Nick I think. I’ve bought a couple of his books too. They are simple to follow instruction books.
That said, the bow is of my own design, which I’d happily share. As is the quiver.
And here’s a trick I learned not too long ago about painting PVC. The best way to get the paint to bond to it is to prime the PVC with the purple primer used in making the glue joints between fittings. I dip a folded up paper towel in it and wipe the whole thing down. Then immediately paint.
Do it outside though, fumes are awful.

Why Ralph, to whatever are you referring? Surely your predilections don’t run antithetical to the puddy tat?
Surely could use some emoji’s about now…
