When: July 13 & 14
Get together with fellow BHA and Idaho Tradfitional Bowhunters members for an afternoon of shooting (fishing available below the campground on Mink Creek) followed by a Dutch oven dinner around the campfire at 7 pm. Camping available on site in the aspens and pines.
Join us to discuss BHA’s and ITB’s activities now and in the future, bring the family, camp out (or just stay for the day) and have fun!
PM me for info!
Hope to see you there!!

Bruce — Where, exactly?
-
Dave –
Sorry for not including that. The shoot/campout will happen on Scout Mountain outside of Pocatello, at the archery range. I haven’t actually been there before, but folks can contact Steve Walker at the address above for specific directions.

Smith is this kind of the same as whats going to happen in Stanley ??? There never seems to be any directions. I am up in Salmon and some of these places I have no idea where they are but would like to attend if I could.I get some e-mails but not much info. Thanks for the heads up.

Hey Wahoo –
We’d love to have you there, if you can make it! Scout Mtn. is near Pocatello, but you should contact Steve Walker at the info provided above in order to get specific directions to the site.
Also, it looks as though we will be combining this event with the annual rendezvous that has normally happened in Stanley in the past. So Idaho board members will be in attendance at the Scout Mtn. shoot, and it should make for lots of good discussion around the campfire about the work we’re doing now and in the future.
Hope to see you there.

*BUMP*
Hope to see some Trad Bow folks there this weekend! Let me know if you have any questions or need directions, etc.

Wahoo — Yes, and if you checked, his name is likely all over the local police and FBI reports as well! 😛 Seriously, I wish I could attend this one, the confluence of two good causes. The West is just too damn big sometimes.

You forgot Post Offices.
Looking forward to this weekend…

Glad to hear you can make it!

What a fun time! Special thanks to Pocatello Field Archers, for allowing us to use their fantastic range! They have truly done a fine job of creating a loop trail with 20 3D and bag targets along the way, and lots of different options for shooting distances and angles. I couldn’t get enough of it, and probably did 5 or 6 laps between yesterday and this morning, in addition to several “creative” organized shoots, involving bags of water, beer cans, etc.
It was also a fun camping, cookout and hangout scene with great folks and lots of interest in learning more about BHA, ITB and TRCP. Thanks again to all who helped make it a reality!

All the kids brought their bows as well:
My chateau for the weekend:
It was great fun to finally meet Mike W. (“wahoo” on this forum). He liked to torture me with picking the longest shots he could find:
“Rio” the 9-week old Springer, seeking shade:
Ain’t that a beautiful sight?
Thanks again to all who helped make it a reality, and we are definitely planning on doing it again next year!

Haha….when’s your birthday? I’m buying you a range finder!
-
Is that Rio for sale? The one I’ve got in all but wore out and not near so pretty. 😆
-
Wahoo, you got any pics of Smithy showing his face? We now know what his wife and tent look like, and many of his thousands if knives, but in his long and glorious history here he acts like he’s on the lamb and refuses to show his mug. Surely he can’t be THAT ugly!
Or maybe he can? 😛
Wish I could have been there, to steal that pup if nothing else. Is it American, English, or Welsh springer?

As much as I’d like to oblige you Dave, doing so could put my lucrative career as an international diamond thief in jeopardy. 8)

Rio is a Springer. And yeah, that pup had a great temperment. If only my 5-year old shorthair acted that mature…
