Idaho Traditional Bowhunters and the Idaho Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers will be co-hosting our second annual trad shoot @ the Scout Mountain Range, just south of Pocatello on June 28th and 29th.
This is a fun get-together with a casual vibe and all ages are welcome. The Scout Mountain Range features a loop trail through mixed terrain and a variety of 3-D and bag targets. There will be some casual and creative ‘competitive’ shoots on Saturday, and “open range” fun shooting throughout the day on Sat & Sun.
Camping is available on-site, and a potluck dinner is planned for Saturday night.
If you are interested in attending, send me a PM with your email address, and I can give you more details, a map to the event, etc. Hope to see you there!

the one thing I noticed was the form on that man is excellent. I hope to be there ??? Came up with an injury that has me down right now but hope to be up and going. There is also a blanket shoot where people throw things in and all win a prize – great get together with great folks

Ha – indeed, his form is impeccable. Much can be learned from such a wise man.
Hope to see you there, compadre.

If you’re in the area this weekend, come on by!

Heck, if you’re in Preston, I bet you’re not even an hour down the road from Scout Mtn! Send me a PM with your email address if you want to join us, and I’ll forward you a map and all the info. There’s no fee to hang out and shoot for the weekend – only a minimal contribution if you want to join in the competitive shoots. Otherwise, the range is open.

Another really fun weekend at the 2nd Annual Scout Mtn. Trad Shoot.
Lots of fun shooting all day long, with an ‘open range’ and various competitive shoots throughout the day, followed by a huge potluck, and presentations by Idaho Fish and Game, Idaho Traditional Bowhunters, The Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership and Backcountry Hunters and Anglers.

And thanks again to the Pocatello Field Archers for the use of such a fine range!

I really enjoy hanging out with Cash – he’s a great kid. And he’s Larry Fischer’s grandson – it’s great to see the tradition spanning generations!
