I have only heard good things about this bow . Therefore I reccommended my brother-in-law consider it as his first bow . He was’nt sure if he would be able to shoot but was willing to try and thought it very reasonable at 139 bucks from 3 rivers .
It arrived yesterday and I think I was as anxious as Glyn to hold and shoot it . I am impressed ! Not only is it attractive , it is a fine shooter .
Glyn has been reading my copy of INSTINCTIVE SHOOTING II and it shows in his form and ability as he was regularly sticking my full length heavy arrows into the lungs of the deer target from about 12-14 yards .
It has always amazed me how much my shooting improves when I have someone to shoot with . Can’t really say if I am showin’ off or if it just makes me knuckle down and concentrate with greater intensity . Either way , I shot my best group of the year , sticking 8 arrows into a neat little group.

Keep us posted on the quality of the bow over a period of time…I have read the reviews of this bow because I wanted to be able to recommend a cost effective first bow for some friends that could not afford a custom bow. The reviews range from awesome bow to pictures of broken limbs. Let us know how it holds up down the road…

I bought a Samick Sage about 6 months ago and I was surprised. It shoots really well. It puts arrows where I point it, it’s quiet. That’s all I can ask. I haven’t any bow that cost way more that does any better than that. I built a fastflite string for it and it’s doing great. It’s what I put the one arrow quiver on in the pic in the “bow quivers” thread. Life expectancy???????????? Time will tell::wink::wink::wink:

I bought two (one for my wife as well) when I was last in the States. They’re pretty darned good.

My best friend bought one around Christmas time when they were on sale for $119 from Cabelas. It’s got 50# limbs on it, but flings arrows like it’s 75#. It’s unreal how fast that thing shoots, and is accurate as all get out.
Can’t say a bad thing about it!

You may be surprised that the Samick Sage has been sold under some big name archery labels. I have an ’89 Hoyt Huntmaster that is the same bow as the Sage, just older. It shoots great and if I need extra limbs I can use the Sage limbs. Will the Sage of today last as long? I don’t know but my guess is that if it is taken care of it will last a long time.
