Hi all,
I was wondering if anybody has a supplier for river cane that I can order from. I live in western Washington and I cannot find river cane anywhere! I have looked at all of the hardware stores and the closest I came was some 24″ garden stakes but they don’t have anything longer. I do not believe that it grows naturally in WA atleast I have never seen it in my hiking and hunting around the state. So any ideas as to where I could get some would be great. Thanks,

JustinYou may try 3 rivers or kustom king. Seems like I have seen it online before.

Look up “Eagles Flight Archery” in Mebane NC. I don’t think Don sells it on his website, but he grows it in his backyard and has it bundled up and ready to go.
He has the Japanese Arrow Bamboo.
But don’t mention my name. He may charge you twice as much!

I have bought Tonkin cane arrows from rudderbows. They make good arrows.

River Cane grows wild and is generally the species that are native to America. I’m certain there are more than one species. It is everywhere in eastern NC where there is a river or creek. Also locally known as “reeds”. It may also grow in other parts or our country but is definitely associated with wetlands or river bottoms.
Tonkin Cane is a type of bamboo not native to America but is a great source of shafting.
