Yesterday I spent a lot of time tuning the SK to a pair of D97 flemish strings . I admit I have been having a lot of hair pullin’ frustration over these strings just trying to get the noise tamed down . Well I’m getting really close to ”HUNTIN’ QUIET’.
Also , during the past couple months my pard and I have spent considerable time stumpin’ which has damaged some arrows and fletching . So , being limited on ready to shoot arrows with left wing fletching ( could have removed broadheads ) I grabbed two arrows with right wing X 2.5 inch , slight offset . No matter where I put my nock point the arrows flew like a Pileated woodpecker. Same results when changing the brace . Then at last , as I stooped to retrieve the two arrows from the ground it came to my pathetic memory that I had in fact discovered over a year ago that the right wing fletched shafts never flew right .
So , I head to the shop and fired up the fletching jig and refletched the stumping arrows . Re-set the brace and the nock to the original spot and all is great . Perfect flight !
I have shot the right wing arrows thru the old Jeffery Hunter recurve with no problem . But the Bear SK doesn’t like ’em.
Anyone ever experience this ,,,or have an explanation ?

There is 250 grains up front . I use ACE standard BH . All points, blunts and BH’s are very near identical in weight and fly very well .
The short fletching was 5.5” shield cut . I cut them short to reduce noise mainly .
Yes , I’ve read it many times that right or left doesn’t matter . I just thought maybe someone could shed some light on the problem. Everything being identical on two arrows with the exception of one left wing/ one right wing.

Hay,
is it possible when you fletched the right wing feathers you used the same jig offset as for your left wing feathers? That would result in the offset fighting the wing and perhaps something wobbly could occur?

Raghorn , BH is 125 gr. ACE (actually tips the scale at 130 gr.) 125 gr. steel broadhead adapter on 2216 Legacy shafts.
FOC is a touch over 20%.
I just came in from shooting the left wing fletched arrows with the broadhead and all is good.
AusJim , I also double checked the right wing fletched shafts and they are correct.
In the past I have always moved the rug rest away from strike plate a mite but haven’t yet moved it on this bow . Until the rug needs changed I’ll leave things the way they are and shy away from the right wing arrows.
I’m sorry for the slow reply but I landed a full time job and am still in my Electrical Training , which is making for a very long day.
