Looking for suggestions for a back/side quiver. Don’t want to put one on my bow. I have a NEET back quiver, but using in the back yard it is very noisy. Would like quiet, simple and one that won’t get hung up, hunting in the North East, with out buying 7 to find the right one 😉
thanks

I am partial to GFA quivers when not using a bowquiver

Do a search on this form for a thread by “Duncan” with the subject “Copperheads” and you will see some pictures of a very nice side quiver.
With the choices of side, back, bow and the many different styles of quivers within each of these categories it is very much a personal choice that may take a little experimenting.

I really like my Big Jim’s sie quiver for target/stump shooting and small game. It’s really well made, and gets the job done with class:
But for an all-around, do-everything hunting side quiver, the Safari Tuff is hard to beat. It’s really quiet, and with the storm cover, it totally protects your fletching. The “Duiker Deluxe” model (pictured) holds 1/2 dozen arrows and has a side pocket big enough for an armguard, glove, etc:

I second the Safari Tuff. That was my first one getting back into archery. I just didn’t want to put a quiver on the bow for some reason. It’s been good. I keep a spare string, knife, glove, in the pocket, but not much else as it can get top heavy quick. best, dwc

Of the many, many things I thought about on the mountain this morning as the sun was coming up, I thought it would be really nice if Rod (@ Safari Tuff) would offer his side quiver in a solid color or two. Or meybe even a plaid? I’m going to ask him…
I like the new quote btw , David.

Thanks, Smithy. I’m reading Slaughter House 5 for the very first time and it’s remarkable.
Maybe Rod will match Tartans for those hunting in kilts! Oh, the autumn breeze…. best, dwc

skifrk wrote: Bruce for the safari tuff side quiver do you also have a daypack on and how do you tie the 2 together or carry them? I had been using a different side quiver but it chewed up the feathers in the area I went to this weekend.
Most of the time, I’m carrying it in combo with a daypack/lumbar pack as well. I just put my pack on, and then put the quiver on over it. It rides nicely alongside the pack, just behind my arm.
I played around with various ways to attach the quiver to the side of the pack, so that it would be all one unit – which you can easily do if your pack has side compression straps. But ultimately I found that I prefer having them as two separate itemss. It allows me to slide the quiver around as needed, rathar than having it fixed to the pack, and makes it easier for maneuvering through brush.
