Hi Folks, I think I might have chimed in on podcasts before somewhere… I have become a fan of podcasts in general, listening to them or audio books rather than squalk radio. I listened to the Traditional Archer podcast with Preston Taylor yesterday and it was really good. I’ll be a regular listener on the TA podcast now. I also enjoy The Push, which I believe TradBow is part sponsoring. One of my favorites has become The MeatEater podcast. These guys and women do an excellent job of connecting hunting and fishing to to the table and they also are discussing many of the issues of the day that affect us do deeply, not only as hunters but as inhabitors of this planet. Good stuff. I appreciate TradBow for taking on this method of communication, an for making it fun, too. best, dwc

I have only listened to a couple, but will have to try the ones you mentioned, since this form of comm is the latest “happening”. Being of the hearing challenged I find talk radio more difficult to deal with – but got to keep moving forward –. Thanks for the heads up David.

One of the latest MeatEater podcasts #184 Managing Bambi is an interesting one. One part of it has to do with crossbows. Understand that the MeatEater is not a trad site. It’s a hunting, fishing, cooking oriented site that invites views from many sides, which to me makes it interesting. As a trad archer I always claim that I don’t discriminate toward archers who shoot compounds, but in the interest in getting over it, I’ll admit I think trad is better. That’s an emotional response not so much intellectual I think. The guys who were interviewed from quality deer management, make a very compelling argument for crossbows. It’s mainly based on recruitment of new hunters and getting them to quickly learn to make efficient, ethical kills. It’s worth a listen. Best, dwc

Anybody been following TheMeatEater podcast? There’s a very interesting and entertaining one currently with Buddy Levy who wrote a book called Labrynth on Ice about the Greeley expedition. They also talk a lot about Crockett. Very interesting. Dc

I found “managing bambi” very interesting as well. Never was into QDMA before. I thought the guests did a good job selling it. Worth listening to for sure. A bit long. (2 hours!) Thanks for posting David.

Brand new to the forum and just soaking up information right now, but this post struck a chord. The Meateater Podcast is easily my favorite. Longform podcasting is here to stay. I’ll be listening to the podcasts mentioned in this post as well. I’m new to trad archery and can’t think of a better way to get acquainted than this forum and some longform discussion!
