A friend had two Grayling Kodiak Magnums given to him and has asked me to help clean them up. Does anybody have any suggestions for removing the paint? I am hesitant to use paint remover as I am afraid it would damage the bows.

I found an article from Jun/Jul 2010 called Recycling Recurves by Justin Thaxton. The file is too large to post, so I’ll email it to jlmiller. If that isn’t the one you were talking about Codger, could you find it for us? I didn’t see anything else along those lines.
We also offer an index file in the Download Library that is available to all members. It lists the articles that have been printed over the years, and tells you if that issue is available in print or sold out. If you have any questions just post them or send me a PM.

Thanks Robin. There are a lot of things I like about this web site but your efforts to help us and to keep us informed is the main one. Thanks again.

Just doin’ my job, Joe! 😆
I really do have the best job in the world, and I love it! I hope you will post pictures and details from your project.
The article suggested sanding the old finish off. Does anyone else have experience refinishing bows or removing paint?
