PA Traditional Archery Season

Hi Folks,

While looking at my hunting license I saw the yellow tag that says Antlered or Flintlock Tag. I thought it would be interesting to extend the same privilege to traditional bowhunters during the same time frame. I’m wondering if anyone else has brought this up with the game commission. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

For clarification purposes, in PA a hunter who has not filled his Antlered Deer or Flintlock Tag with a buck may kill an Antlered or Antlerless using a flintlock firearm during the winter season after Christmas. When I was hunting with my flintlock, I used my buck tag for a doe several time. Since the flintlock season is a season about traditional means, it makes sense to extend this to archery. Thanks, dwc

I spoke with a person at the PA Game Commission this morning and he suggested that I send an email with this idea to be considered by the board. He also said anyone else who has ideas about it should also send an email. Here’s the address for anyone interested.
