Wes — I don’t know about staves — there’s so much potential latitude there in size, quality, seasoning, etc., but good quality osage boards go for $15-$20, or did last time I ordered some. Check the ads in TBM. Yancy, for one, is reliable. Search and ye shall find. dp

If you want a high quality osage stave, you’re gonna pay at least 60 bucks plus shipping. The problem with boards is they don’t follow the grain. Not a problem for a bow that’s to be backed but not the greatest for a self bow.

I agree with you Clay. The board and the stave. Two different expectations. Good staves are gonna cost you.
If you’re not going to build a self bow then I would just get an osage board and laminate it with a backing of either hickory or bamboo.
