Well thanks to my Granddad’s keen eye, I now have a shed of every Deer specie in Alberta (endangered Caribou excepted). The last one found was the Moose shed my Grandad spotted bordering one of his timothy fields.

My biggest shed to date is this Whitetail I picked up in the boonies working a forest fire 2 years back. Since most of you folks here live in the States, I’ve included your twenty for size comparison.

Anyone else here have some shed photos to share now that the season is upon us?

          great finds

we have found 13 so far this season, but with the recent snow will most likely not find any more till late March when some melting occurs. my wife is ahead of me 10 to 3 this year!

Yah my wife always kicks my butt at shed hunting as well. I’m on a two year dry spell, and she will find one every other day come Spring. Just ain’t no justice in this world eh?

Thats cool. I’ve only found 3 sheds in my entire life. 4 if I can include one side of a ten pointer I saw get hit by a car in Feb when they normally shed here. Knocked the right side antler off of him and I stopped and picked it up. Another guy went after the deer so I kept going.
My first shed found in 1975, I made into a handle for a cleaning rod for my muzzleloader. Found it while doing some fall scouting. The rodents had eaten all but the main beam and the brow tine.
