I have a Bear Stag Hunter 45/50# recurve bow and I am curious as to a little history or information about this nice recurve made by Bear?

        Many thanks,
        Eric

Info I found online searching…..( I do that often, lol)

I will PM the link to you, young friend!

          God Bless!

“Stag Hunter was a late 70’s Grayling bow – 58″ one piece recurve that did look a lot like the Black Bear. It was built for chain-store sales. They had brown glass and no tip overlays. They did have the plastic Bear button medallion on the riser. They were lower end bows, but are actually pretty darn good shooters. My wife bought one for me at a garage sale back in the late 90’s. She paid a bit too much for it, but it was cool that she actually bought me a bow to add to my collection. I killed a nice 8pt with it the following year. I still have it.”

Thanks Steve for the info and the link. It is nice to know a little something about this make of bow. I bought my Stag Hunter off E-bay several years back and only finally took it hunting this past archery season and I did get my first traditional harvest with it. I am planning on keeping it for many years to come and hopefully pass it onto my son.
