Hey guys. First post and hopefully I can gain a ton of knowledge from this forum here in the future. I am just getting into traditional archery. I purchased a Bear Kodiak #50 bow, and I am now looking at the remaining trad components. My draw is 28.5, and I’ve been looking at the Carbon Express 350, although I am open to suggestions. Does anyone have a link to a good thread on arrow building for traditional archery? Also, what do you recommend for a quality shooting glove? I’ve determined I like to shoot 3-under currently.

        Thanks!

Welcome MT. I shoot a 52# bow with heavy arrows (700-800 total) and use CE 350s. If you plan to shoot lighter arrows you may need to drop to the 250s. I like the CEs because they’re cheap and accept all standard (5/16) internals. As carbon shafts go, they’re about as simple as it comes, and as cheap. While I’ve had two CE shafts break mysteriously while passing through elk, that didn’t stop the pass-throughs and near-instant kills.

Be prepared to be bombarded with suggestions for better shafts from others with wider experience.

Thanks for the response. Ya I failed to specify I’m looking at the CX Heritage 350’s. I plan on hunting elk, so most likely leaning towards a heavier arrow.
