First day on the forums and 2nd day of owning a trad bow. I have bow hunted for years and have been quite successful. Yet always felt like something was missing. So 2 weeks ago I sold all me compound gear at a really great price to someone who wants to start archery hunting. I bought a new recurve yesterday and cant wait for the hunting and 3d shoots to start up.
This is what I have been looking for.

Welcome Longcutter – good to have you join the trad family. How about a picture of the new bow?

Welcome home!
You will come to love that bow. It will set you free!

What Grumpy said. It takes a pile of mistakes to reach higher. Dwc
One more thing I’d like to add. This happened to me ans seems like it’s pretty common. You’ll practice a lot and start making great headway. All of the sudden, for no apparent reason, it goes right out the window. Maddening. Just hang in there and work through it if it happens to you. It gets better again. Enjoy. Dwc

Welcome! Give it time and I bet you wind up with more than one bow. Ask me how I know. I have 4 now. I agree with these fellas when they say just when you start shooting really great, something happens and it all falls apart. It happened to me. I resisted the urge to go buy a crossbow, kept at it, and now I’m shooting better than I ever did.

Like an old mentor told me one time years ago “It’s simple and nobody said it was easy but damn ain’t it fun”…….
Welcome and enjoy…….Lots to learn………..Lots of fun ahead…..I’ve never found a bunch of more enjoyable people to be around in all my travels as a bunch of trad shooters.
