Since I sold my house and made a little money from it, the first thing I did was pay off all my debt, and I mean all of it!! The second thing I did was to open a “Elk Hunt Fund” account so that I wouldn’t miss another September in Rockies with Dave and C for as long as I live! The third thing was to buy my much better half a few expensive gifts, and lastly, the fourth, I bought myself a sibling for my Shrew Classic Hunter longbow: A 54″ hard-hittin’ Lil’ Favorite recurve! Man, what a bow! the handle is a little fatter than the longbow, but feels the same. I will put some pics next week after I come back from the week-end touring in Ohio!

Hey Alex, you hadn’t told me about the new Shrew! Afraid of making me jealous? 😀 In fact, I owned a Li’l Fave for a while not long ago and it’s 100% another great Gregg Coffey Shrew. Yet, I soon found that sweet as it is, at some point I’ve gone over the line and am purely a longbow shooter. Nor can I afford or justify owning three Shrews. So I let it go on a good deal to another tradbow member and he’s as pleased as you are. Do the LF and CH shoot the same arrows to the same point so that they’re basically interchangeable? That’s what I need from all my bows today. Anyhow, whichever one you bring this year, or both, the elk will be waiting, if reluctantly as always, to donate blood for the initiation. Dave

Yes I didn’t want to make you jaleous! Ron had the bow listed on his site, along with another CH. Since I didn’t want another CH at 55# or under, I chose the Lil’ Fav, 54″ 52# and maaaan does it QUIETLY spit an arrow, the same heavy Wapiti arrow as the CH’s by the way. It feels faster, even though it’s 3# lighter… Shorter, recurve limbs, maybe, I don’t know. Until I go to the shop and use their chrono, I won’t know which one is faster. Do I care? nope, not really. I love that bow and probably will make it a late season Whitetail bow or something like that
PS: Since I “sold out” and went “High-Tech” by buying a recurve, I was thinking of offsetting that choice by shooting wood only out of that bow 😆

The Li’l Favorite is a …well, favorite of mine. We had the prototype in camp, and I fell in love with it. I think we killed 3 deer with that prototype. Anyway, I was on the list for something else, changed it to a LF, and hunted exclusively with that until this passed November (when I weasled the prototype Armstrong Ghost out of Ron and Greg).

The LF will always have a place on my bow rack. Great choice!!

Ah, the return of dear Alex Bugnon! It is so good to see you on here once again and to announce that you have a sweet shooting Shrew, fantastic! Look forward to seeing you around here in the fall, chasing the magnificent wapiti… I took Dave’s tent off your hands but he sure has made up for it with a sweet camper…Good to see that all is well Alex, T

That CH listed on Ron’s site would be the sister bow to my new carbon foam CH. There was a mix up and the first bow was made with bamboo instead of the carbon/foam limb. The bamboo version should make someone very happy.
