Meet Trigger. My son begged and pleaded, so here she is. I’m glad he wanted a lab. Never had anything but labs, and never will.

Labs are my choice for a bird dog also. Although a good well trained pointing dog is a joy to watch work.

She is a pretty one. Congrats. Remember when you find your shoes chewed up that she is just a puppy. 😉

Congrats on the new addition to the family! I’ve got the hankerin’ for a new pup as well, but the Better Half has wisely advised me that two at a time is plenty. 😉

Here’s Hank the day we brought him home, at 12 weeks:

            and more recently:

                Thanks! He’s a German Shorthair.

Do you plan to hunt Trigger?

Nice one Patrick. I reckon looking after a dog makes a young fella a better man, if he can look after a pup he’s doing very well.

Bruce, I love GSP’s, one of my good army pals had two of them, but they were never hunting dogs. One of them had a hunters heart though. We’d often take our dogs for a 10-15km run through some local woodlands and there was one creek that we’d cross where Toby (the GSP) would invariably see a duck or other bird. We wouldn’t see him again for a while, just hear his “Oh Oh Oh Oh” bark as he’d chase the bird down the creek. I love that bark 😀
