I post this with a heavy heart….Ron LaClairs beloved wife and companion Nancy “Redbird” LaClair passed away yesterday morning. Ron was at her bedside as she passed, as he has been for the last few years as she declined. Ron showed us all how MEN should care for an ailing and weak loved one. He saw to her comfort and well being in their home, and most recently as she rested in hospice. Nancy was not just Ron’s wife ( a marriage of 58 years), but in his words “The backbone of everything we have ever done”. Nancy was an accomplished longbow shooter and bowhunter in her own rite, and will forever be remembered as the beautiful “Redbird”.
Please join me and the ShrewHaven boys as we pray for Nancy and Ron.

Roger, thank you for this notice. I never met the LaClairs, but read about Ron. Your words and his have great meaning. Perhaps someone who knew Nancy well could write a memorial piece about her life. My condolences and heartfelt wishes go out to their families and all who knew her. Peace, David

We have missed Nancy’s smiling face at Compton for the last several years. Like Ron she will be remembered in Archery history.
Ron you are in our prayers and thoughts.

My heartfelt condolences to Ron and his family. I celebrate their beautiful partnership of 58 years like the one they lived! It is something only a few can hope for.

I met Ron once as a customer in his shop. He was generous with his time and advice and let this newcomer take his time and encouraged me to shoot some bows. I sensed a kind, generous man who would have done all you’ve said. My best to him and family.

My condolences to Ron and the family and to all those who were close to Nancy.

I have been skimming through their website for a few days now unaware of her condition. I took notice of a great set of pictures capturing the couple in the 50s and in the late 90’s I thought to my self what a beautiful partnership.
my condolences and prayers of confront to the family.
