This is my first trad harvest and my first deer harvest!! Such an amazing feeling and I am very thankful to have captured all this on video. I am sorry for the video quality but my camera got wet last season and has not been right.
Hope you can enjoy this video as much as I can!

I replied more in depth in your Bedding post, but again, well done! Were ya pumped, Son? You’d have been breathing any harder you could’ve stroked out! Ain’t it grand?!!! 😀
You might not have been off in your aim to hit her high, but it appears that she “dropped” a good bit and it may have hit high because of that…
I couldn’t tell on my computer, but was she looking at you?
What a rush!!!

Thank you everyone it was a very busy day yesterday but it feels great!!
Doc,
I will give you some more details on what happened before the shot since my camera is pretty crappy and pixely. Once the 4 ladies made their presents I had already picked out the last deer. She was the biggest and also the most cautious out of the group. I was getting ready as the first 3 walked past and all 3 of them stopped and looked right at me but did not seem to be alarmed. Once the 4th one started to walk again thats when I was bring the bow up to ready the shot. After watching the video I must have hit another branch or something cause I do here the a crack of somesort. She then stopped and looked right at me as I was drawing the bow back and that was the end of her. When tracking her I was pretty worried thou since I could not find a single drop of blood, but after taking my time and really looking for any trace I was able to find a good portion 30 minutes later. Then roughly another 20-30 minutes of following the blood ever so slowly I found her. All in all a good day!!!

That is priceless!
So let me get this straight…..
First deer.
Shot with trad equipment.
From the ground.
Caught it on video without a camera man.
Just awesome!!!!!

The shot was at my maximum distance that I felt comfortable shooting and she was between 17-20 yards roughly. I would prefer a much closer shot but since the opportunity was there I could not resist!!
Good luck this weekend. The hard work pays off let me tell you. I am still riding the high from saturday morning!!!

Way too go! What a rush! So, I’m flyin’ into Minnie tomorrow to do some work in Minnetonka tomorrow. What time will the backstraps be on the grill!?!? LOL! Great job man!

Thanks for your clarification to my question.
then she was looking at you…! I wrote you a note (PM) so’s not to bore everyone…
I’ve seen a bunch of slow motion takes on deer at the shot…and it’s amazing how FAST they drop and how FAR they drop down to push off…totally freakin amazing!
Regardless, you made it work and your woods skills and perseverance found the animal, now you’ll have meat in the freezer and a hide on the wall plus a video…grainy or not!:!:
