I was at a family reunion and a cousin of mine said, “I have something for you”… We went out to his car and he pulled this old bow out of his trunk. He said, “This was your Dad’s first bow. When I was a kid I wanted to get into archery, so he made me a dozen arrows and gave me this bow…… I thought you should have it”. He had 3 of the original arrows my Dad had given him also.
So, I had a friend here make me a string and repair the tip…he strung it up and shot it. It’s a right hand bow and I’m left handed, so didn’t shoot it but I’d like to see if I can change it over so I can shoot it left-handed. Serial number on it is 25292 and draw weight is 61 pounds. The friend who made the string said it was made in 1952.

I think you may have a collector’s item there and would check around for details before performing any modifications or further repairs even. Cool, indeed. I’ll give you $50 for it right now.:lol:

Yes, I’ve been thinking about that……the friend who made the string said it is a collector’s item. If I want to shoot it I’ll either have to learn to shoot right handed or maybe shoot off my knuckle!!

Yeah, I would not modify it. Those old static recurves are valuble. That one has the brush guards built into the static limb tips. Cool. Maybe you could find a left handed one and have a matched pair.
