I was never a mushroomer….but I caught the bug! Always called them “ground boogers”…a little kid thing when you don’t like the look of a food. Well, wifey likes them and on her behalf I took to lookin’! A co-worker showed me a spot and once I found a few it was a blast. Dave P. describes it well in his book On The Wild Edge. “worse than a drug addiction” and “I lock right up when I see one” were the comments my co-worker made on how addictive it is. I think it’s a good year up here from some of the pics I’ve seen. Any other shroomers and have you had a good season yet?

          Scott,

Do mushrooms require a bit of moisture to exist?:wink:

In that case, I expect a rather poor year. 🙄

Hmm, not a schroomer either, but also find myself looking! Plan to take a peek around this weekend.

Saddly no morels or ginsing here in Arizona…

In NY I would mix arrowhead hunting with morel/ginsing hunting in the spring, I miss doing that…

I’ll be a son of a bee! I took today and Monday off to just do nothing and odds and ends around the house. I found a frying pan full while cutting grass. I have never seen or noticed them in that spot.

Paleo, I know I’ve seen them when I wasn’t looking and now I can’t find one for nothing! Big rain here today, so I’ll head out in the a.m. for some stumping and looking about. dwc

Took a quick peek around today, found lots of these. Anyone know what they are?

We usually find a good many during turkey season but I sadly didnt come across a single one this year. We did have a ridiculous crop of chanterrelles last summer but they really pale in comparison to a few sliced morels.

Morels? Morals? I’m sure the latter and I might have been in somewhat of a questionable nature in my youth after a pint or two too many of the brewsky, but these things I took a picture of look rather “immorel” 😀 to me. These things looked way nasty when I shoveled them out.

Sorry picture not quite the quality I wanted.
