Okay please bear with me on this. What is the lightest spined aluminum shaft (please specify in deflection) that you would consider safe to shoot from this bow with the following parameters:
Brackenbury “Peerless” 62” recurve, 46 @28, (w/fastflight string)
Actual drawlength: 29-1/2” (measured from deepest part of the grip)
Total arrow length: 31-1/2 BOP
Point/BHD weight will be 250-300 gr.
I know that the info is incomplete but I just want to know what those more experienced than I am with tuning feel the maximum SAFE deflection for this set-up would be? I want to push the envelope here, but not so far that it becomes dangerous to shoot. Again, we’re talking about aluminum shafts only. Thanks!

Ron,
It would be just a wild guess, but I’m thinking 2114.
If memory serves me right traditional spine on a 2114 is 72#.
2114s are pretty light in weight, so that will help in the FOC department.

Well good morning Mr Breeding,
Thank you very much. Although I must say, I’m somewhat disappionted… “It would be just a wild guess”… I was really hoping for something more like “You can shoot _______ shaft without putting it through your arm Ron” hehehe…

Ron,
Wish I could help you more, but I stopped shooting recycled beer cans years ago.:D
Went to woods for many years then found that carbons are the best shafts on the market.

Ron, ya old curmudgeon,
Get yer skinny butt out in the shop and build some jury rigged, Rube goldberg shooting machine for your bow and test what your told… no harm, no foul if it folds up on release!
Just pretend you’re using soda straws and coat hangers! 😆
