Bought a Massie Archery Inc. longbow a couple of days ago, 66″ 59#@28″. Loves my 740gr. ash arrows spined at 65-70. Its a resin impregnated birch(actionwood). It’s very slightly R/D with a straight grip which I haven’t shot before but the grip style seems right for me with it being more rounded front to back than other straight grips I’ve held that had much sharper curves. It appears that the tips were reinforced with clear glass to handle the modern string types since it came with a TS+ string. Craftsmanship is great and I’m assuming the bow is at least 20 yrs. old. Anybody have any additional light they may be a able to shed on this bow? I understand he went out of business in 2004 due to a tragedy in the family but was well respected as a bowyer.
