        Hello all!

It has been quite a while. I recently purchased a Hunters Niche predator lobo hybrid longbow. The bow is new and came with a D97 string. Unfortunately, the bow had no instructions. Doing some sleuthing on the internet, I found the recommended brace of 7.25″ to 7.75″( in Spanish, haha). The bow is 62#@28″ with a 64″ AMO. The string that came with the bow is a 16-strand D97 AMO length 64″, actual length 61″ measured @100# tension, per label. When I strung the bow and checked the brace height with a bow square my reading was 8.5″ and I untwisted the string to 8.25″. This seems a bit much. My question to you all is, should I string up the bow and allow the string to stretch or is that too much stress on the limbs?

Sorry to take so long to respond … out of pocket for a bit. Glad it was easily fixed.

That is what I was going to recommend.  I usually try to contact whoever built the bow and get a new string from them , or follow their recommendations to solve the problem… if possible.

            Enjoy your new Bow

What Scout said.  Good thinking to get a longer string.  If it’s too long you can always wind it up, but you can only untwist so much!
