I am still struggling with my tendonitis. My left elbow (I shoot right-handed) gives me considerable pain after I have been out shooting. I am preparing to shoot an Ontario Archery Association 3D tournament in August and have had to take my string silencers and brush buttons off my recurve string in order to fit their Traditional category. This has resulted in hand shock that manifests itself in the tendon attachments in my elbow. There are no rules (that I can find) about using vibration dampeners on the bow limbs and I’m wondering if anyone has had experience with them. (I have noticed Limb Savers on Fred Eichler’s bow on TV.) Do they actually work? Do they slow the limbs down and effect arrow speed? Comments anyone?

I just recently put a pair on my ACS CX. I put then right on the end of the fadeouts. I have the heavy aluminum riser and it does not have much vibration to begin with. I placed them right at the end of the fade outs. I took my hush puppies off at the same time and it seemed to be about an even trade off. I have not run it through a chrono but I don’t think I have lost any speed(i’m not concerned about a few fps anyway). I know some people have placed them farther out on the limbs and say the effect on sound/vibation is better. For what they cost it is worth a try. Be willing to moved them up or down the limb to see what works best.

A buddy had them on his bow and it made it sound really weird – like it was choking the bows natural mechanics or something.
With that much rubber on the limbs I can’t believe that it doesn’t have a negative effect on performance. I’ve very leery about them.
I guess I would have to see some tests.

I have a pair on my Samick recurve. I have had them on for as long as I’ve had the bow so I don’t know if there is any difference. It is my one and only traditional bow and I bought it just for bowfishing at the time, but now I am hanging up my compound and using it for deer and small game this season and I figure anything to quiet the bow would be useful.I can’t see how it could hurt?
