Hello
I’ve been hang’n out on the leatherwall for years, but recently I got a bit frustrated reading some posts that bashed the BCHA. I sent a PM to Smithhammer, and he suggested I come over here; so here I am.
I don’t know why I’ve never hung out here, I subscribed to TBM for all of my teens and early twenties, I guess I was just going through the stickbow.com motions.
Anyway, I’m originally from Missouri, did a BSc in Wildlife and Fisheries management at University Missouri. Worked around the the country and globe a bit, then did a MSc in the same degree path at Texas A&M, met my future wife, who has patiently waited for me to finish my PhD in Australia. With a little luck and mucho effort I’ll complete that this year. My wife is a professor of Fisheries Ecology at Texas Tech, and even though Lubbock isn’t that great, I’m looking forward to being back in the USA for good in April.
The first thread I saw and read on this forum was David Peterson posting this

If this is what I should expect from this forum, then I think I will very much like it here.

Glad to see you made it! Little bit of a different ‘vibe’ here, shall we say. Kick back and enjoy and I’m looking forward to your contributions to this fine little corner of the interwebs!

Welcome! you’re in the right place!

Ah yes, I’ve fished and floated many miles in your neck of the woods and I know it well. I’m not sure where I’ll end up, but if I end up back in the Ozarks I’ll be very satisfied. Them hills are a hidden gem.

Welcome! Lots of great, thoughtful discussion on here (as you’ve undoubtedly noticed), and great, helpful folks with eons of experience to boot!

And a big WELCOME from the mom! 😀
If you need any help navigating the site, just holler. There’s tons of information and articles outside of the forums too. Don’t let this distract you too much from your studies! 😆

Hi there and welcome to the forum!
If you don’t mind me asking, what is BCHA? And even if you do mind…what is BCHA? 😆

It is BHA. I assumed he meant Backcountry hunters. I don’t know 100%. Assumption, someone said, is the mom of all F***Ups! So it might be something else and I might have a big mouth! 😯

Drew4, welcome! Reads like you have plenty of perspective to draw on, or drew on rather. I look forward to reading your posts and responces. Best wishes with your studies. Peace, dwc

WHAT IS IN YOUR MOUTH???
WARNING: DON’T TAKE ANYTHING SERIOUS HERE.
We also need a pic of your dirty old hat!!
The hat that is in that pic is now more of a salty felt towel than a hat; I’ll see what I can do about getting a pic.
As far as what’s in my mouth, that’s about 11 dollars cold hard cash, which was a mind blowing amount of money while I was a masters student at College Station, it bought me 3 tall shiner bochs!
