I have my bow heat box built and tested. Now I have plans with three woods. Back Hickory, core Ipe, and Eastern Maple for the belly. The bow will start out at 68 inches long and the style of bow is Reflex Deflex. I want to build two bows. The first to be 40 pounds, and the 2nd bow 60 lbs. Can anyone give me some direction as to what thicknesses each layer should be to start. Right now I think I would go with a 1/8 inch back of hickory. A 3/8 thick core piece of Ipe. And 1/2 inch belly of Eastern Maple. Any opinions of this would be so appreciated.

I had my question answered so I am on to tillering tomorrow. If anyone is interested in making a laminated bow they can always pm me. Jim at Rudderbows has been a great help. He has always been available by phone and email.
