Here are some pictures of the lam sander I built by modifying a set of plans I got from Plans Now.
this has a 6″ wide table and drum, hand crank feed table, and will be powered by my table saw. Still have the table height adjustment parts to make and install. Looking good so far.

I got it running and it works good. The test piece measures the same on the edges so it should work out ok. Need to build the dust collector though as it does make sawdust.

The dust collector isn’t much but it works. I had a piece of white oak that I was running through on my wedge sled that came out at .3435 on one side and .344 on the other. Here’s a video

          Nice!

What is the blue part made from? Can’t tell if it is painted wood or metal.

How long did it take to make the sander?

Steve most of it is mdf except the thicker part that the bearings are bolted to which is 2 layers of 1/2″ plywood. The drum is 5″ circles made of 3/4 mdf using a hole saw and glued together. I have a friend who gave me a 24″ drum from a sander he replaced that I will use to build a bigger sander with. I got the plans online from PlansNow.
Here’s a picture from their site.
