My big spring project was building a cooler for aging deer and sheep…
Got this thing built over spring break with my sons help. It was our first real Man Project we did together. I think he made some good memories, I know I did.
Aged a couple sheep in it already. They sure were tasty!
Built it in the space under the staircase landing.
Hoist deer up on electric hoist, dress out, transfer to rail, and roll into the cooler. When aging done, about 3 weeks, roll out, quarter up, bring in house and package. Don’t have to lift anything heavier than a hind quarter anymore.
For them that know, once you’ve had aged venison anything less is…, well, less.

NH moose permit draw is in one week. Sharpen those tools and stand by the phone.
“You’re going to (build) a bigger cooler.” 😉
(Amazing piece of work!)

Good luck with the permit. And if you get it and want some help rounding up a moose, I’ll be there for you.
I do a mean cow call, totally irresistible. I’m too sexy for my self 😀

That is one great piece of work, and what a project to share with the youngun. Well done. I like the idea of the hot tub out back you can soak and dream about the aged venison:D
It’s nice to sit in on a cold winter night and watch the stars, especially when there are meteor showers. We used to sit in it commando style almost every night after the kids went to bed (6 or 7 pm) Now if we wait to go commando style, it will be 11 or 12 pm before the kids are in bed. I’m getting too old for that.
