So, who’s all going? I’ll be there Friday and Saturday. I’m only signing autographs on Friday though. It’s just too tiring otherwise.

I’ll be there. I’ll be wearing my favorite black shooting hat just so you guys know that you can ask the guy next to me for an autograph.

Ripforce and I are heading there on Friday night. Should get there shortly after it opens.

We’ll see Pat and Crooked from a mile away but we don’t know anyone else.

Do you guys want to meet up?

I am contemplating going for the first time. No more kids sports to attend as they are out of the house, and out of college. Still in the planning stages for attendance though. Trying to convince a compound buddy to ride along. He may be talked into turning to trad. bowhunting. Sort of a sinister plot to take him to such an event. I am guessing it may be difficult to resist ‘the force’ in such a place. 😀

Your friend will be amazed if you get him there, once he shoots a few of the Trad bows from all the bowyers that are there he will switch for sure! LOL Be sure to bring lots of cash!

Yes – Lots of cash. That’s what I am afraid of. Tough to resist bows in pictures much less when they are in your hands. I get in more trouble with other guys wives when I help them spend their money. A cousin’s wife will hardly hand him the phone when I call. (It’s usually about another hunting trip.) It’s a gift, what can I say. 🙂

Please don’t let this keep y’all from attending Friday and Saturday, but it looks like I’m only going to be there on Sunday. 🙂

It’s worth the value of the object I autograph minus $10. 😆

Well, I had a good time at the show. Lots of bows to look at, but resisted the many temptations to buy a bow. Did buy some books, some amber jewelry for the wife, a shooting glove, some broadheads and a video. Overheard one fellow telling his buddy, (while leaving), that he had run out of money in the first half hour. Not hard to envision that, and fun to see so many traditional bowhunting booths in one place. A great way to shake cabin fever.

I had a nice visit with Robin from this site, but missed out on a few others. I was there Friday through Saturday mid day only. Perhaps next year we should schedule something specific?

I also enjoyed seeing many of the folks from this site. I sure like putting a face with a name and as most of you can tell I love to chat. I’ll be back in Michigan for the Compton Shoot in June, maybe we can plan something then. What do you guys think about lunch on Saturday? I don’t want to conflict with the kid activities so I’ll give it some thought. Your input is welcome too.

I recognize these people from somewhere. Can’t quite put my finger on it though:

My personal bowyer (ha!), Steve Turay (Northern Mist Longbows) and his wife. I don’t know who the guy facing away from me is. Six months until my Whisper will be done:

Ron LaClair and Gregg Coffey. Gregg says about 3 more months for my Classic Hunter:

Barry Wensel, Mike Mitten, and Gene Wensel, signin’ and chattin’:

Blake Fischer from Eclipse Broadheads. This is just after, in a rare moment of gullibility (according to me), I took, hook, line, and sinker, Blake’s explanation of the advantages of having a sharp back edge on a broadhead. I was kind of thinking he was off his rocker, until he told me he was just messing with me:

Bernie, doling out some cash and the guy adding some art to his own photo on the Lancaster Archery catalog:

I wish Rip and I could have connected with some of you folks. Robin, I intended on coming back and chatting with you some more but by the time we started shooting bows it was already 8:45. lol With only one day to hang out at the show, we had to move fast!!!

Overall I had a GREAT time at the event. Allegheny had some excellent deals on shafts there. I picked up a dozen Ash and Fir shafts for under $60 and the Ash sets were matched well enough to be premiums. Haven’t checked the Fir yet but they were nice and straight.

I was really impressed with the majority of the venders and even had a chance to do some shooting.

Not sure if we are going to Compton this year Robin. I can really only hit two of them this year and I did more sweating than shooting at Compton last year.

No problem, but I wish we could have visited longer too. Friday is the best day for shopping and Sunday is the best day for chatting. I understand if you can’t make it to Compton, but I’ll try to plan something for the group at the events I attend. My problem is getting away from the booth to join in. Hmmm…I need to bring a different assistant. 8)

Maybe I can sneak away and camp at Compton for a night this year…provided we don’t get another hurricane. Not too crazy about camping with an infant in those conditions.

See you at Compton!!!:D
