I ordered my first longbow 2 months ago. So that’s 2 months down and 4 to go. I never thought at 37 I would be waiting around like a kid for Christmas morning. Lol. I have a recurve that I can shoot till it arrives so that eases the pain some. I have been bowhunting for 25 years and this will be my first with traditional equipment. I feel the joy I used to feel as a young teen now every time I draw that string back with that cedar shaft attached to it. It’s a feeling that I missed. 😆

Shades of Carly Simom’s “Anticipation sounding in my ears as I read this…

Back a few years, some bowyers were up into the multiple year waiting list when popular…some older gents commented that they’d not wait that long for anything…one went so far as to post, “I don’t even buy green bananas at my age anymore

I laughed till I cried on that one…now…a number of years later in the twilight of my own existence, that just ain’t funny no mo!

The anticipation does sweeten the results… but don’t go developing bizarre fantasies… there is still a dance to do with your new sweetheart to not step on her toes and make beautiful music together.

It sometimes take time to get to know one another…

WV–I took a 45year hiatus from hunting due to work. Got back 3 years ago thanks to Elkheart and now have two long bows—and that kid at christmas morning feeling hasn’t left this ole Marine yet. Enjoy it. Where in WV are you? Perhaps close enough to do some stump busting together.

              Enjoy

congrats on your new bow coming – I have read or heard bowyers are out 14 months – it’s just hard to believe – I was a bowaholic and I can’t imagine the wait any way can’t wait to see some photos

I live clear up at the top of the Northern Panhandle Colmike. We would have to meet around Morgantown. Lol. Have you ever been to that shoot Strictly Sticks in Westmoreland County Pa? Im thinking about going this year. Its in June. Maybe a miracle will occur and I will have the new bow by then. 😆

I know. This anticipation is disturbing. Lol. I even put a picture of the bow as a screen saver on my phone. Its like torture. Haha. Im definitely glad its not 14 months though. My buddy ordered one from a guy a few years ago and it took 18 months. I would have gone insane.

Well shucks, guys. We’re not afraid of brand names around here, if you wish to share details with those of us not currently blessed with that rare form of “stress.” 😀

It’s a Dwyer Endeavor R/D longbow. 50#. Picked out the Bocote wood.
