A quiet and reflective Friday night, second healthy glass of bourbon. I just finished processing and taping up what is likely the last venison for the year.

I know its late, but I wish all you ladies, gents, and scoundrels a happy and fulfilling New Year!

Happy is such an unfitting term for this moment for me, leaving Afghanistan headed for the Greatest country in the world, so I guess I am beyond happy! (Hopefully my last trip to this place 😀 ) I missed hunting season yet again, but the truth is I can run through the North Carolina woods stump shooting and getting the feel for my bow back into my hands and mind! Looking forward to the sounds of home and a cup of coffee on the back porch with Momma! Time to get back to the world and teach some youngsters how to shoot a longbow….

            HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

Welcome back—well done. Where in NC are you Fortress Bragg or Camp Swampy?
