Got my latest selfbow tillered and sanded…..got the handle shaped and the braintan for the handle cut out and ready for lacing. just need the Eastern diamondback skins to finish her up.
Problem is, they’re in freezers belonging to two different pals in opposite corners of the state.
Man, I’m ready to have this thing finished and in the field.

It’s hickory I cut three years ago. Last stave from the tree, and the best of the bunch.

Beautiful!

Looking good! Can’t wait to see it skinned. I recently skinned one of mine with copperheads I collected here on my property. We see them alot but sometimes they get away.

How’d it turn out, Duncan? Post a picture!

Looks good, man. Will this be a hunting bow? I started carving this week on a pile of osage that I’ve been sitting on for a while. The MO-JAM selfbow gathering is next week in Marshall, Missouri. I’m hoping to score some river cane and obsidian there; things that just don’t exsist in my area.
