I was just wondering if there any support for Mr. Jerry Hill of Jerry Hill Archery Fame . He is a proven authority on The Great Howard Hill and has so many stories and is a Authority on Longbows . I think his input in this Magazine would make a wonderful addition to a already fantastic Publication . Any comments or opinions ?

I see you are new to this forum. Welcome!
I would guess that if Jerry Hill wanted to write for TBM, that would be between TBM and Jerry.
For myself, I’m a fan of the ASL and shoot nothing else, so I’m always interested in talking about shooting them, making them, and anything related….
That said, ASL’s seem to go through popularity spurts that don’t last too long. It’s a pretty small niche inside a pretty small niche.

I have one of his bows which I like very much. I think Jerry Hill is a fountain of knowledge that it would be great to tap into.

Yes, he has years of experience and knowledge . He has many stories about the Legend Howard Hill which I feel sure any longbow archery folks would have an interest in , and has I assume just as many of his own stories of his many trick shooting and hunting adventures along with his knowledge of the building and shooting of the Longbow. I just dont ever see any articles by him . I shoot one of his Wildcat bows and love it .

Look on the Traditional Archers Association forum. He posts there on occasion.

Yes I see a post every now and then on a forum , just haven’t seen anything in the Archery magazines . Mr. Hill has a large following in Alabama and Mississippi and I am sure elsewhere , just curious why he is not seen anymore in the mainstream Archery publications .

The submission guidelines can be found by going to the home page, and clicking Submit an Article in the Resources box on the left. From there click the link entitled Submission Guidelines. If anyone wants a an article considered for publication all they have to do it follow the guidelines, write it up and submit it. Magazines can’t publish what they don’t receive.

I am sure Mr. Hill could submit articles if he wished , and also know that Magazines contact certain individuals and request them to write articles for them . Maybe Mr. Hill has been contacted with requests and has chosen not to . I don’t know but was just seeing if there was any interest out there from the Traditional Archery Crowd .

Mr. Hill is certainly welcome to submit material for consideration by following the steps Jason outlined. Like most magazines, we don’t actively solicit material from writers who have not submitted material to us previously. Don

Mr. Thomas, thank you for your response . I think this magazine is the best one out there now . I have asked Mr. Hill if he would submit an article and his response was , he would be glad to if asked . I think some articles from him in this publication would make an already great magazine only better . If anyone who reads this forum and would like to see some articles from Mr. Hill or has a comment please chime in . I know a lot of subscribers in Alabama and Mississippi would like to hear from Mr. Hill .

I would love to hear more from Jerry Hill as well! He has a wealth of knowledge and experience that would be great to spread.
I have heard he has some of Mr. Hill’s personal journal material that would be great to get out there for public consumption.
I would really like to see Mr. John Schulz submit some material also, but he has all but retired. JS is the living authority on Mr. Hill since he was trained by Howard and taken under Howard’s wing for many years. I believe Jerry Hill was 14 years old when Mr. Hill passed away.
Still Jerry is a valuable resource for all of us Hill junkies that crave anything more from this legend. I hope he does decide to contribute.
