Than trying to get 10 yards away from a mature buck? All year I practice sneaking up animals. Then it comes to hunting season and as my buddy Dean says, “You’re a part-time hunter, hunting full-time deer.” Its a good thing I like watching bees pollinate flowers, cause its hard getting close to deer! 3 weeks into the season here and I think my buddy and I educated all the bucks on the mountain, and this past week didn’t see any, just does n fawns (and I’d gladly shoot one of them, but its a buck only state, think they’ve retreated to thicker steeper terrain and are more nocturnal now. Oh well, maybe they’ll survive the rifle season then.

Getting psyched for elk season in Oregon in Sept!

Murderers Creek unit. Its an any elk tag, AND the first week of the season is primitive bows only!!! I want to hunt there partly to support a Game & Fish agency that created a season specifically for us!

            Shane- pm’d you.

I thought about that area but have never been. I would sure appreciate you letting me know what you think about it.

2 years ago I hunted the Umpqua NF. Had a great time, got into some elk, but didn’t bring one home. They changed that zone over to an antler restriction. I’m just not good enough an haven’t been hunting long enough to be picky. That’s why I went over to where its still any elk. I’ll let you know how it is.
