Just sittin around the living room, messin’ with my Gretsch Pro Jet….my other hobby.

Heck yeah! I suck, but I play guitar (primarily to accompany my wife and my singing) and love to here others play. I just play rhythm. Nice playin’! More pickin’ is my request.
As an aside, I just watched “It might get loud” last night. Great DVD! Jack White REALLY impressed me.

Hi George
There’s two things I regret not being able to do, first is speak another language fluently Second, is play a musical instrument. Keep at it I look forward to a duo with your good self and Chris Shelton.

I’ve been attempting to play guitar for the last 40 years and still can’t do it! But I admire those who can so keep on pickin’ and I’ll keep on grinnin’:D

Bert wrote: Hey, George- Sounds great out here in the rainy PNW!- Is it a rendition of ‘I Got the EFOC Blues’ by C. Shaft and the Woodies?!!! I mean, this being a trad bowsite and all.
Keep pickin’-BertBert is right! Next time, hang a bow and a quiver of arrows on the wall behind you and look lovingly at it as you play! 😆 And of course, only traditional tunes, which I think by now “Me and Bobby McGee” qualifies as. 😀 I squandered 5 years of effort and income trying to learn to play guitar, back in the ’70s, before finally admitting the obvious: I have no talent. Today, I find the Native American flute far more suited to my skills. And better yet, my wife points out, with a flute in my mouth I can’t sing.:lol: dave

Is that what I heard down around these parts end of December was that you singing David??? 😯 Hows that for some dry humor? -
Hey Dave,
I enjoy playing the recorder which has a similar tone to the native American flute. However, it causes my wife much trepidation, so I have to play it where she can’t hear it!

george- you ask is some pickin ok here? this is a general topic forum, and although it’s not related to bowhunting, it is related to what a fellow trad bow brother likes to do with spare time when he’s not shootin his bow, so i say hell yes! and by the way , i play a little too, and it’s guys like you who make me want to throw my guitar in the campfire you s.o.b.! i like it! what kind of amp is that? brian setzer makes me want a gretch, but my ability says can’t have one! sounds great, george, that’s yhe way i aspire to play – thank you!

I totally forgot GTA’s (I’m going to stubbornly stick to calling you that) youtube name is GUITARarcher. George should send GTA a copy of himself playing and GTA could use some of his video editing magic to merge his playing with George’s, as though they’re playing together. That’d be cool! I’ve seen others do it.
-
That would definatly be awesome! I too have seen others do it, with great success. Plus that and I am like a professional editor:lol:
-
hey hey hay, didnt say I can edit sound:lol:

Well getting back on topic — George, what’s your FOC on that Gibson?
-
Dave…..the said gitfiddle is a Gretsch….not a Gibson, that’s where the rock-a-billy bark comes from…..the mini-humbuckers.
E.F.O.C. is not for me. I like sticking with things that work well….like my Gretsch, my old Shakepeare bows and Bear Razorheads. All this mechanical gibberish was hashed over by Dr. Paul Klopsteg years ago, another archer/mechanical engineer, and I summarily ignored it as well 8^).
Now, if you want to talk stump shootin’, I’m all for it.
-
At least, George, you’re not stuck in your ways!- and since you’re not hunting hogzillas or Asian buffalo so, all good natured kidding aside, your ‘old’ equipment worked back then in the Cretaceous, and it still works now in the Cretinoid Age.
Will we have to further divide into ‘Old” Traditional and ‘New’ Traditional or old and new ‘Primitive’?- hell, let’s just call it ‘Archery’ and go kill some stumps!
Though some of us are just tinkerers, with the curiousity of a cat- we can’t help it, it’s in our DNA to reinvent the wheel with new and old materials and methods-Help!- is there a Intervention Hotline somewhere? Anywhere?!!
Bert- currently experimenting with EFOC mortar shells.
