Interesting! I’d guess they’d be in the southern, more deserty and warmer part of the state? Don’t usually have wild pigs in the mountains, though sometimes I wish we did. What does it take to make a feral pig? Well, just one “domestic” pig escaped from his cage? So,when do we get an open season on “feral sheep?” 😈 Seriously, feral pigs are a blight on every place they turn up, eating all the chow that should go to natural native species. But then they are so much fun to hunt and good to eat that we who don’t have them feel jealous. Nothing is easy any more! Homer (aka “the Ham”)

Yes, they are in the southern part of the state. Here is an article I found at KTVB.com Wild Pigs Becoming a Problem… When I searched this site for “feral pigs” I found two articles that you might find interesting. Sounds like a trip to Bruneau is in our future. 8)

Thanks
runamuck,
After reading Robin’s post it is clear that you must do your duty for Idaho. Now go and do your worst on those pigs for they can and will do theirs on the local environment. Time is of the essence! 😀

I don’t think I’d waste my time chasing the few pigs in Idaho. There was a very small number around CJ Strike, but they’ve been eradicated as far as I know. There may be a few stragglers but it’d be like winning the lottery to find one on purpose. Pressured pigs are really good at getting lost.
I’m not sure what prompted that latest press release, but it’s not like there’s wild pigs running all over the place.
