I’ve been thinking about working up a new set of arrows. However, my FOC hasn’t gotten to where I want it. Just wondering if these will help?

That might do it, but you’ll have a heck of a time getting it to expand shot out of your recurve! Maybe a ballistic tip would work…

Troy, I send you a perfectly good field point and right away you have to try and change it.I bet you are the kind of guy that would buy a new cutom bow and take a file to the site window to improve it LOLLaughing

                  Joe,

It’s going to be close. I have a shaft ready to try and the first measurements are just below 40%.

As normal when I start tuning there will be a increase in FOC, then if I’m forced to cut alot the FOC will start to fall. I’m hoping it want go to the falling stage before reaching correct tune.

If these points fail make it, I’ll still have one more chance when you get those 300gr point on the market.

Well, my current setup failed to make the magic number of 40%. I feel I have the shafts shooting about as clean as I can get. I’ll know for sure once I fletch the shafts and shoot them afew times. As it stand right now the bareshafts came in at 39.46%. I know I’ll loose a tid bit when I fletch, but shound remain above 39%.

Joe, it looks like my quest is in your hands now. Hurry up with those 300gr fieldpoints. 🙂 🙂

Troy, just build a new bow like the one below, get some rebar to hammer out into a point and some 1″ diameter, 5 foot long bamboo for a shaft. It will make getting your 40%+ FOc arrow easy, and easy to tune. The bow is about 4″ wide at the grip, with no shelf. You won’t need any fletching to reduce you finished FOC. Works for them!

                            p.s. You’ll have a tapered shaft too!
