some of you might have read my post on “is it possible” about my dream of establishing a reputation as an Elk Hunter by taking someone out and showing them “how I do it” and establishing a solid foundation for a future Outfitter/guide business, and writing the whole trip up for (hopefully) publication in TBM…
Well, after sending out “feelers” and getting quite a bit of interest, I am commited to doing it now, have confirmed one hunter from Ontario, Canada for September 7th-16th, and several more asking for information.
Looking forward to challenging myself to provide the quality of experience, that I feel they deserve, and getting good reports on my ability to deliver all that I have promised.
And expect to shoot lots of pictures and video…
I have taken the “leap”, now it is, will I sink or swim ?
(I am confident I will swim)

The post I was referring to was https://www.tradbow.com/members/cfmbb/messages.cfm?threadid=A87A410B-1422-1DE9-ED3CE6CAC153271F
just getting a lot more responses than I had anticipated, the logistics of getting hunters to/from camp is going to be the biggest challenge, but should have it all worked out long before September gets here.

Had a good conversation the other day with a couple guys from MA, real interested on being there for the opener, no matter what day it is…
that puts me at 3 serious, and several that are curious….
Looking forward to a great season !!!
Going this weekend to dig some Razor Clams, and another dig in April, so I am able to can and freeze a bunch, then I gotta get out to catch a Sturgeon or two, The only steelhead right now are “native” so I cannot retain…..
getting ready for this September is a lot of work !!

Just an update, figured as to how many interested parties requested info I would go ahead and get my business licence etc.. just to make it “official” and avoid any legal difficulties.
Still plenty of interest, but waiting for definate dates is kind of …..
On the plus side, not much competition, as there only seems to be a few Roosevelt Elk Outfitters/guides but unfortunately they are the ones that have given a bad reputation for others.
I look forward to having a REPUTABLE service with POSITIVE references, and as I am the ONLY one targeting the traditional Archers, I expect great things in the future.
