I’ll bet you intentionally missed with the intention of educationing said Elk. That way he wouldn’t fall for a similar ruse by other hunters. Actually, it wasn’t me who missed. It was my buddie. This is is first year bowhunting and he has never been around a bull that has been called in. He should have waited for a better shot as the bull was coming to my cow call like he was on a leash, but the sun shining on bulls back was to much for him to bear, so he shot out of sink(drew while in the open– making the bull jump the string) I was whisper-yelling ,”not yet” as loud as I could without alarming the bull, but my buddy didn’t hear me either. Its always the little things–that why I love it so!
