Yep, Bow Season is underway here in NC whether you hunt with a real stick and string or a wheeled contraption it is time to hit the woods in earnest. On Thursdays and Fridays one can see their shiny new rigs pulling out for the weekend at their favorite lease or gameland, etc.
Today while out checking out projects and doing site work I spotted what may be the fanciest rig I ever saw. Guy was leaving out driving his Dodge 4×4 Godzilla truck (olive green)pulling a 30′ Airstream with a huge camo 4×4 Polaris stuffed into the bed of the pickup. Nice rig but I guarantee you can have just as much fun in a tent and hiking in to hunt. Also spotted numerous rigs pulling utility trailers loaded with ATV’s so look out the gadget hunters are out and about. They’ve been monitoring their trail cams for months and have the deer all corned up and ready to go.
Don’t worry guys I’m not jealous. It is just another sign like a fresh track. If we can’t get totally away from them then use ther antics to our advantage. Figure out where they are going to run the deer to and hunt there!:D

When I see a rig like that I think I’d like to have the money for one, in the bank, and still take the tent…

My hunting rig is the 5′ x 9′ back packing Eureka tent I bought in 1973 or ’74. I have not used it accept when the kids wanted to “camp” in the back yard over the years. This year, however I am going to the WTA fall hunt and using it to camp. I did buy a new Ozark Mountain twin air mattress this year to go with it.
