I just found this forum… Looks like a good one. I’m in Northcentral Montana…. about 30 miles south of where Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Montana all meet. I’m more of a traditional hunter in general than a traditional bowhunter specifically. By that I mean that I enjoy hunting with my longbow, my Hawkens .50 caliber, and my old Winchester Model 64 30-30, but for me it’s more about hunting like I did when I was growing up with my Dad and Uncles than a person’s choice of weapon.. Got my first .22 and started chasing rabbits as a youngster about 1958, so I’ve been at this a while. 🙂
At any rate, Howdy!

Welcome !!
I have hunted pheasants close to Plentywood which might be close to where you live. And yes it is a very unique part of the world. I loved it, my brother and I used to go.
It was about six or seven years ago. My Springer passed and have pretty much quit bird hunting. Gonna have to get another dog :)

BrucePlentywood is about 4 1/2 hours NE of me….. We’re in the Milk River Valley just east of Chinook.
Funny that you mention Springers…. I’ve raised Field-Bred Springers for many years and I also raise Chesapeake Bay Retrievers… When I’m not chasing big game, I’m usually out chasing birds..
Here’s my website for my dogs:

We are practically neighbors, I’m only 3 or 4 hundred miles away in NW Montana. Fun winter here too.
