It’s off to the U.P. I go! 8 days in Michigans’ western UP for me. Solo too. Just me and my silly recurve. I’m on a mission for a serious recharge, meat for the freezer and that 1st trad deer. Hopefully I’ll have some good pics to post when I’m back. Good luck to any and all wherever you are.

Hope your trip is enjoyable as well as successful. It’s gotta feel good to get away from civilization and be a part of a wilderness area for a week. Remember to aim small to miss small,Paleoman…. Enjoy yourself and come back and give us an account. Wayne

Thank you. I actually wrote “aim small” on the inside of the limb in orange fingernail polish a couple weeks ago as a constant reminder since I’ve had an “issue” or two with a couple clean misses.

So often a trip like that soars or dives according to weather. Wishing you blue skies and starry nights.Dave

Well, I did lots of scouting since it was a new area….weather was fair to good…to sum it up 2 deer sighted , 1 wolf, a few bald eagles and a big old owl! No meat in the freezer but I figured as much going in cold. I continue on my loser streak, but don’t much care:) A bad analogy maybe, but my little camper was kinda like the lunar lander – my base camp and I did little :space walks” in unknown territory all week. Thank God for GPS – now if they could make them in a laminated wood look:)

Well it sounds like a successful trip. Batteries all charged up! Mine would be if I just got to get away from home for a change. Any pics of your camp?

Here’s a few pics – not much of a camp really, just pulled into a State run campground for access to H2O, etc. I want to get a bumper sticker that says “I Am Older Than My Camper”! The other’s a stand site I found that I liked, albeit 3 days into the trip, and last a doe that trotted in while I still had my bow on the ground attached to the rope. Hope the files aren’t too big, I’m not a great re-sizer.

Sounds like it was a successful trip.Nice to get away and be one with nature for a week. I’m content to sit in my blind for a few hours while nature does her thing around me.Wink Wayne
