                          dwc,

                          It’s one of the silliest place names I’ve ever heard. The founder of the town was a fellow named Robert Towns, who named it after himself in spite of the comic value 😉

                                Hah, my wife took me to an intersection in rural KY that on the same sign post had pointing one way “Big Bone” and the other “Beaver Lick”. Hahaha. I love Kentucky 😀

                                  I know the intersection well! I live about 2 miles from Big Bone, it’s a state park.
