I am new to traditional archery, lost my training wheels about a year ago. Wondering why it took so long! In the process of reading Mr. Peterson’s A Man Made of Elk, awesome read, too bad elk season is still a year away. Also read On the Wild Edge, which was also very good! Looking forward to some good discussion and advise here! Cheers!!:D

Welcome. New myself. Love it. Don’t think I will go back. You mention reading, so have you picked up “Hunting the Hard Way” by Howard Hill? Great read. Reason I mention is that is what really peaked my interest. Then I got more into it (also with Mr. Peterson’s books and others) and it just got better and better. Looking forward to the discussions ahead. Be well.

Hi guys, been a while since I posted here but I wanted to highly suggest reading the Witchery of Archery by Maurice Thompson. Will go well with David and Howard’s books.

I read 2 of Don Thomas’s books while flying to SA and really enjoyed both of them about his adventures toting a bow around the world.

                Hello All,

…another “new guy” here, just signed in. Not new to traditional though. Bought my first “stick” (Bear Grizzly) out of a wine barrel in a hardware store in 1968.

Amazing what treasures can be found hiding out in plain sight. Welcome. Be well.

Hello!! All of Dave’s books are gems!! Don’t forget Saxton Pope’s book, a great read, as well as the book I’m reading again right now for the 3rd time: Glenn St Charles “Bows on Little Delta”. This one gets more amazing, the more I revisit it. Take care… Alex

Welcome aboard. Great reading by mr petersen or my thomas. I recently read a book by reg darling that really spoke to me about traditional archery and hunting ethics. It’s called “coyote soul, raven heart”. I highly reccomend it.
