We are having a real last weekend of summer here in Michigan. Warm and nice, even though I’m ready for a bit cooler weather. Hope you all are too. Remember your family members that were machinists, farmers and laborers of all kinds. It’s time we remember their sacrifices, lost lives and too often unrecognized efforts in the building of this country. And do it with some fun that they’d appreciate!

Had my folks and my sisters families over for the weekend. Spent the afternoon today with the kiddo’s on the archery range lined up 5 in a row. Taxed my stock of kiddy equipment.
Boy did they shoot well. So well in fact, I left my bow inside as I didn’t think I could keep up. And speaking of keeping up, they just kept going, and going, and going.
There was no way I was going to tell them to quit, and finally their fingers gave out and I could come back in and drink a beer. Whew!
Plans have been made for constructing targets at their house now, so we’ll see.
Had the big feast last night; venison burgers, homegrown roast chicken, salmon from friends in AK, homegrown veggies galore, wine, and homegrown blueberry pie for desert.
I paid the price today. Getting old. Keep forgetting about moderation 😳

Weather great, warm days with cool nights no air conditioning needed so far this summer. Wojo, Ed Spur (with his new long bow) along with the bowyer
Greg Iden and his 14 yr old son and 10yr old daughter–son with bow he built and Reilly with her bow dad built showed up at 0900 for some shooting on my back yard course. Great fun had by all and hope to see Greg on this forum soon.
Nice dinner tonight with our friends at their lake house–military adviser to the Sect. Of State.
A nice end to the summer as the leaves have already started to change on our mountain. Deer season starts the 11th of Sept.

Thanks Paleo!
And Mike, sounds like you have a piece of heaven yourself. I haven’t heard much about your search for a hole in the water, maybe that means you (meaning your better half) has decided your piece of heaven is plenty good enough?
