I got one of these late last year and am fooling around with it..it seems to me you would tend to stick out like a sore thumb the way it’s shown in the promo video. Off the top of my head it looks like more site prep is needed than just tucking a tripod stool in a low brush pocket and being tighter to any tree you might be leaning against and less outline too. Curious how anyone who has one uses it and if it sticks out too much in practical use…

One of the major advantages to the Hammock Seat is its comfort. I’m able to sit very still for looooonnnnngggg periods of time. Shooting from it is excellent as well.
I think these overcome any disadvantage from being away from the tree, but that might reflect how dense the woods are here in NH.

Don’t have the hammock seat. I do have 3 that I bought, 2 are too high, 1 is too low. All of them are too heavy. I tend to think that the hammock will not fit since it fits all you big guys. I have made one that I like and currently testing. I’ll let you know how it works out (hint plastic pipe and seat belts – now you have something to think about all weekend).

Next to sitting on your butt the hammock seat is IMHO the best invention out there for hunting from a ground blind—play around with it and you will find it can be used in many terrains. Don’t forget to practice shooting from it does take some getting used to.

I like it. There is another thread somewhere on here started by Smithhammer I think…
I’ve seen a bunch and killed a few deer while in the seat. I think it breaks up your human form better than a stool. It may be pornographic, but it works! comfortable too.
As for setup, all you need is a tree. I’ve found that wrapping the strap multiple times around the tree before clipping together keeps it from sliding down on smaller trees.
